Chris is a journalist interested in business, culture, media, politics, social issues, technology and travel. Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, he is a staff writer for Kyiv Post.
During the past six years he’s been a reporter, web editor and business editor for daily, weekly and monthly local and regional newspapers and magazines.
In October of 2012, he volunteered at the Institute of Mass Information (Інститут масової інформації) in Kyiv, Ukraine, writing and translating stories about press freedom violations and journalists’/media rights. Since 2010 he’s contributed regularly to Matador Network, and was selected as a 2011 Glimpse Correspondent.
A native of Portland, Oregon, a graduate of Portland State University and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Ukraine 2010-2012), he enjoys Stumptown Coffee, street food, train travel and speaking Russian with anyone who will listen. Besides the United States, he’s lived in both Eastern Europe and China, and he’d like to add a few more places to that list.
